Washable Flex Suits and Dot Shoes: A Practical Shopping Guide

Our June new-arrivals email paired washable Flex Suits for Elders with Dot shoes for Sisters. Restocks come and go, so when you shop, start with the basics: does it fit, can you care for it, and will it work where your missionary is serving?

What comes with the Flex Suit

The navy Washable 2-Pant Flex Suit comes with two pairs of pants and the jacket. The current fabric is 45% rayon, 50% nylon, and 5% spandex, so it has some stretch. The stretch is nice, but it's no reason to skip measuring.

The product page notes the pants come unhemmed, and the pant waist runs six inches smaller than the suit size. Go through the measurement tutorial and leave time for alterations before the departure date.

What washable means for this suit

The care guidance calls for cold, gentle machine washing or hand washing, and the suit doesn't need a wash every week. One caution: some care tags were mislabeled. If the tag on your suit says something different, ask us to clarify before you wash it.

The second pair of pants gives your missionary something to wear while the other pair is being washed. Keep the whole outfit in rotation and follow the care guidance.

Trying on Dot shoes

Browse the current Dot shoe collection for styles and sizes, and have her try the style she likes with the socks or hosiery she plans to wear. Check where the arch sits, how the closure adjusts, and how the shoe feels after walking around.

The Dot Darcy, for example, has a rounded toe and an adjustable Velcro closure. Other styles have their own details, so compare the individual product pages.
