Laundry is easier when the routine isn't a mystery. Before departure, wash a few of the items you plan to take and learn what each one needs. A few practice loads will teach you more than hoping one setting suits everything.
Sort by care needs as well as color
Read the garment labels. Keep white shirts away from dark colors, and keep delicate pieces away from rough fabrics or exposed fasteners that could snag them. Empty the pockets before anything goes in.
Use the temperature and cycle the garment calls for. Many of our everyday pieces call for a cold wash, but let the label or the current product guidance make the call.
Measure detergent and leave room
Follow the detergent and washer directions for the load size. More detergent won't make up for the wrong cycle, and a machine packed too tight can't let clothes move and rinse properly.
Plan the drying step before you start
Some pieces can tumble dry on low; others need to hang. Leave enough space and time for air to circulate, and put clothes away only once they're fully dry.
The 4-Way Flex Pant Air, for example, can take low heat or line drying, while the Dagny Top needs to hang. If an instruction is unclear, ask before experimenting with high heat.
Give suits their own check
A washable suit still has its own instructions. The Washable Flex Suit page gives the care guidance and notes that some tags were mislabeled. If the tag and the product page disagree, contact the store and we'll confirm the right routine for your item.
Make next wash day easier
Jot down the settings that worked, treat marks promptly with something approved for the fabric, and rotate your clean clothing. A steady routine means less time puzzling over laundry and more time for the rest of the day.
