Mission prep is full of big milestones, but clothes do their real work on ordinary days: the walk to an appointment, a long lesson, laundry, and getting dressed again the next morning.
Our "Built for the Long Walk Ahead" email came back to an idea we repeat a lot: useful preparation makes space for the work you're going to do. The same thinking applies to packing a wardrobe.
Start with the current instructions
Let your mission and MTC guidance decide what goes on the list. Climate, daily activities, and the clothing requirements come first, before a favorite style or whatever happens to be on sale.
Try on whole outfits
Try on the complete outfit, not one piece at a time. Sit down, reach, walk around. Make sure shirts stay comfortable under a jacket and that waistbands work with the belt you actually plan to wear.
The Washable 2-Pant Flex Suit has a stretch fabric and comes with a second pair of pants. Use the sizing tutorial, and leave time for hemming; the pants come unhemmed.
Give shoes real attention
Sisters, compare the current Dot shoe styles against the clothes on your list, and try them on with the socks or hosiery you intend to wear. Pay attention to where the arch sits and how the shoe feels overall. A style that looks right still has to fit your foot.
Whatever the shoe, practice wearing it before travel and follow the maker's care instructions. If something rubs or the fit seems off, ask us for help.
Learn the laundry routine now
Wash a typical outfit before departure so you know what needs to hang dry and how much drying space that takes. And check what the guarantee covers before you pencil free replacements into the budget.
A wardrobe you can wear and care for without fuss is a good starting point. If you'd like a second set of eyes on your list, contact our team.
