7 Simple Ways to Prepare to Serve Before the MTC

Today's missionary preparation question!

Q: "How can my missionary prepare spiritually before the MTC?"

The goal is to become a missionary long before they go. Seven simple habits, drawn from returned missionaries and Church leaders:

1. Memorize a scripture a day — the First Vision, the missionary purpose, key verses in the mission language.

2. Learn from RMs you admire; ask them about their missions.

3. Practice talking to everyone now — get a people-facing job and make a new friend a day.

4. Take an occasional technology fast to build self-discipline and sharpen listening to the Spirit.

5. Explore healthy ways to handle stress before you enter the MTC.

6. Become a member missionary in your own ward now and go out with the missionaries.

7. Use the Church's online tools to share the gospel.

Tip: None of these require a name tag — just small, steady steps that add up.

Missionary Thought of the Day

"The issue is not going on a mission; rather, the issue is becoming a missionary and serving throughout our entire life with all of our heart, might, mind, and strength."
