Covid 19 Precautions and Virtual Mission Prep

My name is Jon and my wife Jenni and I started MissionaryMall back in 1997.  We have one son serving in Europe and another son getting ready to submit his papers, so we understand the concerns of those of you who are preparing as well as those who currently have missionaries in the field.

We're so thankful for home-centered, Church supported worship, especially now that some of us will have an MTC in our homes!  We are also very grateful that church leaders as well as those in local, state, and federal government are taking drastic and immediate action to minimize the impact of Covid-19.  To read more about Covid-19 from the Church Newsroom, click here.

In order to help with preparing for your mission during this time, here's what we're doing!

MissionaryMall Store Status:  We are doing our best to minimize the financial impact to our employees, and as such, our stores are are open for normal hours!
Cleaning:  In addition to our store deep cleaning/sanitizing routines, we also have a contract with EnviroMasters to deep clean and sanitize bathrooms in our Orem stores.
Sick Customer Policy:  For the safety of our employees and customers, please don't shop in our stores if you have any cold, allergy, or flu-like symptoms!  We have a ton of other ways to shop if you are feeling even the slightest bit under the weather.
Facemasks:  Our employees are currently wearing facemasks
Social Distancing:  We are trying to keep a 6 foot distance from customers at all times
UV-C Light disinfection of commonly used surfaces  We have UV-C light disinfection devices that we use to clean frequently touched surfaces.  This is the same technology used in hospitals, doctor's offices, etc.

Body Temperature Scanners:  We now have non-touch body temperature scanners being in our stores so we can self-check and check customers for fevers.  Many countries have found this to be very effective.  We wanted to get ahead of the curve by starting temperature scans early.

Contact Us by Phone, Text, and FaceTime:  Several years ago we switched our landline phone systems over to iPhones, so not only can we receive calls, but we can also text and FaceTime.  We can answer questions, show you how to take measurements, show you features of clothing and accessories, give advice, and help you virtually shop our stores.

Google Hangouts Video:  Please send an email to the men's store at MMallOrem@gmail.com, or the women's store at SMMallOrem@gmail.com with your missionary's name as the subject line. Include in the email what time you would like to be contacted via Google Hangouts.

Current Inventory:  Fortunately, we were able to do almost all of our purchasing for this coming busy season back in December and January.  As such we are currently fully stocked in suits, dress pants, golf pants, shirts, ties, luggage, bags, belts, socks, shoes, skirts, blouses, dresses, etc.  Ironically, we do have quite a few suppliers in states that are totally shut down and cannot ship product, so when that inventory is gone, it is gone until quarantine is lifted.

Future Inventory:  If you are planning on going on a mission this year, it may be wise to start to prepare early so that if there are any shortages in the future, you have your gear ready to go.  Shopping early also ensures that you'll get exactly what you want instead of settling for whatever is left over if shipments are further delayed.

We ask you to remember the quote that missionaries all over the world are familiar with!  “The Standard of Truth has been erected; no unhallowed hand can stop the work from progressing; persecutions may rage, mobs may combine, armies may assemble, calumny may defame, but the truth of God will go forth boldly, nobly, and independent, till it has penetrated every continent, visited every clime, swept every country, and sounded in every ear, till the purposes of God shall be accomplished, and the Great Jehovah shall say the work is done” (History of the Church, 4:540).

President Nelson also stated that missionary work would continue since it is essential to the gathering of Israel.  Click here to read.
Missionary work will continue.  The Church of Jesus Christ is no stranger to trials.  Let's show the world strength, resolve, let our light shine, and serve how we can.
Thank you!
Jon and Jenni
